The Right to Manage is an option that is open to, and considered by, leaseholders of flats who are generally dissatisfied with the way in which the communal services are managed by their Freeholder and/or their agents.
The Right to Manage follows a process that is defined by the Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002. If followed correctly it is usually straightforward. However Freeholders may attempt to delay or confuse the process.
There are real benefits to leaseholders in exercising their Right to Manage. Some or all of the benefits may be the catalyst for leaseholders to exercise their Right to Manage.
There are also responsibilities that are acquired and these should be considered.
Butlin Property Services have a range of experience in dealing with the Right to Manage process. The company has successfully assisted groups of lessees in Nottingham, Leicester and London.
The legislation requires a set process to be adhered to within prescribed timescales. Butlin Property Services understands what is required by law and can guide you through the process.
