Coronavirus COVID-19 - Symptom Tracker

In order for scientists to research and track the spread of the disease an application has been made for iPhone and Android to self report symptoms. Whether you are well or not you will provide useful data for the NHS.

This can be found here: https://covid.joinzoe.com/

Article about the development of the app here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/technology-52033210

From the app: “

Help the NHS track the coronavirus across the UK

Take 1-minute to self-report daily, even if you are well. Help our scientists identify:

* How fast the virus is spreading in your area
* High-risk areas in the UK
* Who is most at risk, by better understanding symptoms linked to underlying health conditions

You are also contributing to advance research on COVID-19 in partnership with leading scientific institutions like King’s College London and the Twins Study, one of the most clinically detailed studies in the world.

This app allows you to help others, but does not give health advice. If you need health advice please visit the NHS website at:  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

This app is designed by doctors and scientists at King’s College London, Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals and Zoe Global Limited, a health technology company.

If you would like to help out in this difficult time, then you can. Download the app and share daily your own status, even if you are well. With your help we can understand much better the situation up and down the country, how the disease presents itself to different people, and how it progresses.

This is a new virus in the UK and has never been seen before. There are a wide range of symptoms, which differ between people. With your help we can understand better how the disease presents itself depending upon individual factors such as health and age.

No information you share will be used for commercial purposes.

There are two parts to the app:

HEALTH INFORMATION

You will be asked to share some general information, such as your age and some health information, such as whether you have certain diseases.

SYMPTOM TRACKING

We will ask you every day to let us know how you feel, so you can share your symptoms. We will also ask whether you have visited the hospital, what treatment you received there, and whether you have been tested for COVID-19 (Coronavirus).”

Coronavirus general info

Coronavirus - General Information

The government has provided multiple resources for procedures to help protect and stem the pandemic.

These can be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/coronavirus-covid-19-list-of-guidance

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close-guidance#work-carried-out-in-peoples-homes

Our staff have been instructed and given all materials available to disinfect and protect themselves.

However, we wanted to make clear a few of the elements that are a recurring theme in this advice from the NHS are clear to all residents.

  • Regularly clean your hands a minimum of 20 seconds wash is necessary.
  • Stay at Home wherever possible. This includes staying out of the communal areas of your property as much as possible.
  • Social Distancing – maintain at least 2 metres from other people. The virus spreads primarily by human to human contact.
  • Where possible wear gloves and a face mask. Guidance on face masks and gloves is available online. However, the main principle is to avoid over using these products and to dispose/exchange them per the guidance for the product.
  • Dont touch your face. This includes not touching your hair or head.

There is limited advice related to efficacy of mouth wash and other ways to avoid allowing the virus into your lungs. We have seen an interview with a doctor who stated that this could help, however, this was warned to only help kill things currently in the mouth and throat and not a solution.

General advice is to maintain excellent personal hygiene and to use good judgement.

There seems to also be a trend of spitting which we can only assume is related to unofficial advice. This could be quite dangerous as the virus is mostly transmitted through saliva during talking, hence the advice to socially distance.

We hope that this information helps anyone who may read it.

As ever we wish you all the best in this time.

Coronavirus – Contractors and Caretakers

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected all walks of life and has presented new challenges to working and communicating with clients.

The government has issued guidance for all businesses and individuals to stay at home wherever possible. In order to facilitate this we have put measures in place to allow all our office staff to work from home.

Our caretakers and contractors, however, still provide a vital service maintaining, reporting, repairing and conducting safety checks of property. This has been confirmed in the source below:

“Robert Jenrick MP, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government ((MHCLG) confirmed on BBC Radio 4 today that contractors should continue to work on site to ensure the maintenance of buildings for fire safety and sanitation reasons and for cladding remediation works to continue, provided the work is done in accordance with Public Health England guidance, i.e. 2 metre distancing, etc.”

Please click here for Public Health England’s advice on the gov.uk website.

The interview can be heard here on BBC Sounds – https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000gmfc – at 0810 (2hrs 10 minutes into the programme) on 25 March 2020.

We are enforcing strict distancing rules for all workers and ask anyone who sees our contractors to avoid contact. We will also be operating on the assumption that everyone is in self-isolation.

We are, of course, aiming to maintain normal service levels and to protect lives of residents and workers.

If you see a contractor on your site they will be following social distancing to carry out the repairs and maintenance required. Please do not approach them.

While we understand the climate of fear around the pandemic we are taking all steps necessary and following all guidance to minimise contact and maintain property.

As further information is available we will be updating this website and contacting all clients directly.

We wish you all the best in the mean time.
